South Indian Wedding Portrait at Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago by Chicago Indian Wedding Photographer Maha Studios

There are a couple of hindu temples in the Chicagoland area that are just stunning to photograph such as the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago located in Lemont, IL.  We had the pleasure of photographing Parvathy and Vaisak’s hindu ceremony in mid-spring and we had so much inspiration from the beautiful temple architecture and spring time blooms. This Chicago wedding venue for hindu marriages is replete with stunning temple architecture that transports you to India.

We started the wedding portraits earlier in the morning before the ceremony started. For Chicago South Indian weddings, I always suggest getting the portraits done before any of the events start. That way we get to photograph the couple when they look the freshest! Also, the morning is perfect for photos because the light is generally softer. For hindu weddings, I would suggest scheduling first look and wedding portraits before 8am to avoid hard sunlight.

South Indian Bridal Look and Groom’s Outfit / Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot

For the Pre-wedding photo shoot in saree, Parvathy wore a gorgeous burnt orange sari, a crown of fresh fragrant jasmine and heirloom gold bridal jewelry.  Vaisak wore a traditional South Indian groom’s outfit called a Mundu and scarf called Melmundu. The couple’s outfits combined with the vibrant spring blossoms during Chicago springtime created the perfect wedding portraits.

The Chicago hindu temple in Lemont has rich architectural details that we incorporated into the wedding portraits. I wanted to get creative south indian wedding photography poses with the gorgeous spring trees on the property. For a few bridal saree poses, I had Parvathy stand close to a gorgeous dogwood tree. The purple blooms and her orange bridal saree were a vibrant contrast! I love how the couple became the focal point in the moment above with all the lines leading to the center. We did a variety of wedding photography poses around the Chicago hindu temple. I love how the couple became the focal point in the moment above with all the lines leading to the center.

South Indian Wedding Mandap Decor Ideas

For those readers looking for mandap decor inspiration, I highly suggest doing a modern vibe for the decor that contrasts and compliments the wedding attire.  Also, candles, soft draping and minimalist lines always looks amazing.

This intimate wedding ceremony was definitely one of our favorite spring marriage ceremonies because we were able to incorporate the beauty of the season and capture so many precious candids of the couple, their families and friends.
