Shabana and Mansoor were lucky… They had their nikkah and wedding reception just before the Coronavirus quarantine shutdown the entire Chicagoland area. And I was lucky to capture their nikkah, the muslim religious wedding ceremony, and their reception later that evening!! The nikkah took place at the Naperville ICN masjid in March and we only had time to cover the ceremony and mini portrait shoot.
Shabana looked stunning in a deep red bridal lehenga designed by her mother who owns Alishba’s Studio. Her glowy natural makeup was done by Rimsha .
As a wedding photographer, I take it on as a personal challenge to find great angles even when the environment or background isn’t ideal. After all, when you are paying for photography on your big day, you want someone who can problem solve!
For the portrait shoot, I found a spot in the back of the parking lot that had great light! I didn’t care about anything else but the way the light looked on Shabana and Mansoor’s skin. In the end, the nikkah portraits turned out phenomenal!! Take a peek!
